COVID-19 Statement

To Our Valued Customers and Partners:

First and foremost, our thoughts are with those who have been most directly affected by the global COVID-19 outbreak.  We express our most heartfelt sympathies to those whose loved ones have succumbed to COVID-19.  As well, we would like to extend our sincerest wishes for those whose family members have contracted and are coping with COVID-19—we wish a full and speedy recovery for anyone affected.

At Omron our mission is “To improve lives and contribute to a better society” and through this difficult time we at Omron endeavor to fulfill this mission.  To that end, we are taking actions to help prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 to protect our employees, customers, visitors and communities.  We are actively monitoring official guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and local health departments throughout the Americas and we have taken a number of measures consistent with proven actions aimed at helping “Flatten the Curve.”

We have implemented enhanced sanitization of our facilities and are actively promoting good hygiene habits amongst our employees.  We’ve implemented proven social distancing techniques including travel restrictions; elimination of large meetings, trainings, conferences and gatherings; increased the use of web-based and telephonic conferencing; and implemented remote work and flexible schedules for a large portion of our employees.  If a team member becomes ill, we have asked them to stay home and recover and are supporting them in their efforts to do so.  As a precaution we have also asked team members to self-isolate for a period of time after returning from travel from COVID-19 heavily-impacted areas and we have also asked visitors to kindly avoid coming to Omron facilities if they are ill or have traveled to COVID-19 heavily-impacted areas.

It’s important to note that Omron healthcare products such as blood pressure monitors and respiratory products directly help patients affected by this illness.  At the same time Omron’s industrial automation products assist society by helping maintain factory production at times of reduced staffing.  Also, our factories continue to build electronic components which are critical to supply chains around the globe.  To continue supplying our customers during this pandemic we have taken a number of actions to secure our global supply chain by working closely with our component suppliers, monitoring and rapidly adjusting to the changing global shipping landscape, and a number of other measures to maintain business continuity.  For our customers who utilize Omron on-site services, we are working to provide services with enhanced protections for both our customers and employees. We are also providing remote customer services and consulting where we can leverage that capability or postponing work where necessary.

We will continue to actively monitor this evolving situation, stay in contact with health organizations, and make adjustments where necessary so that we can continue our mission “To improve lives and contribute to a better society.”
