Through
technological and personnel contributions,
Omron improves entire industries and moves them forward. The
improvements are very tangible: increased revenues and profit
margins, greater production efficiency, and more applications
of high technology. Individual companies and consumers realize
benefits of higher quality products and lower prices. If companies
would channel some of the same zeal and resources to the goal
of improving their communities the world would be a better place.
Omron has chosen to take that challenge and assume a leading
role in improving the community. The Omron Foundation is the
result.
Founded
in 1989, the Omron Foundation (OFI) coordinates the charitable
efforts of all Omron offices in North America to achieve the
greatest positive social impact. Through OFI, Omron Electronic
Components LLC divides its charitable resources among organizations
benefiting education, people with disabilities, cultural pursuits,
the aged, and other social concerns such as disaster relief.
On a more focused scale, OFI matches the charitable giving
of individual employees in their respective communities to
amplify the benefit to local organizations.
Education
The technologies of
tomorrow cannot be developed without a good education today.
The Omron Foundation aggressively supports all levels and
facets of education including scholarships, endowments and
awards (local and national) for teachers and students.
Culture
Support of cultural and
artistic pursuits enriches and uplifts society as a whole.
With Omron's continued support, the arts and other cultural
treasures will be available for future generations to enjoy.
Disabilities
A physical limitation should
not adversely effect the quality of life. Omron is taking
steps to ensure that challenged people enjoy a high quality
of life.
Elderly Just as physical limitations should not affect the quality of a person's
life, neither should age. The aged can have a profound effect
on any individual and community when they are given the chance
to interact and continue sharing their experiences.
